It'S bEeN lIkE fOrEvEr!

So....
have we fallen off the edge of the earth?????

Nope, we've just been to the
Las Vegas Temple,

and the Western States Vet. Conference.

(Did you notice the famous duo?
'Yep, Chels won a $100 Visa giftcard
for her photo of Pe and Scout.)
We've been visiting darling grandchildren,
(feeding them wholesome food),

and wearing them out!

Chels and I went to Oakland
for a nephew's temple wedding.

We got to see all of our F.D. relatives.
(That's my wonderful mom next to me.)
Here are the bros, sisses, bros-in-law,
and sis-in-law of the groom.
(My niecies and nephews)

My f.d.b. sister and Chels.
(They like to talk math.  Hmmm, am I related???)
Oh, and, by the way, the h.s. counselor just told me that Chels is no. 1 in her class of 326.
Chels's response: "I really don't care about ranking.  I mean, no. 1 in Fallon?  Not anything special."
'Glad she's in it for the learning.
('Still not certain, if I'm related.)

My f.d.b. brother
(father of the groom)
Meanwhile, N8's been in Idaho for the Gem State Classic
Dance Competition.
(Their team took 4th. in the Latin and in the Novelty.)

I cleaned the pantry.
(Oh, come on, at least act surprised!)

Track's back and N8's been running away
at Silver Sage,

in Fernley,
Galena,

and Fallon.

He medaled!
(2nd. in 800, 2nd. in 4x800, and 4th. in 1600 in Galena.
2nd. in 4x800 in Fallon.)
Go, Mr. Bug!

Okay, that's it.
Wake up and go back to something important.
(Be sure to have a fantastic week!)

oH...LeT's CeLeBrAtE VaLeNtINe's DaY aLL WeEk LoNg!

So, Valentine's Day came and went,
but we've been doing this whole-week type celebration around here.

First of all, a picture of my FAVORITE valentine.
Although they are both talented and good-looking,
I'll take the one on the left in a heartbeat!

And that one on the left had a 3-day weekend, so he took us skiing last Friday.
We had such a grand time!
('Sorry, no web cam here.  We were tempted to duct tape a video camera to the top of FDC's helmet, however--wouldn't that have looked smashing?)

N8 had to stay home and dance.
They had some sort of Winterfest assembly at school.
We don't have any pictures of that, but...
here is a video of him practicing the cha-cha with one of his partners.
('Don't tell him, it's here.  He'll erase it immediately.)

Saturday, we took a walk to the top of Rattlesnake Hill.

You always have to touch the cross when you get there.
('Can't figure out why so many have this desire to "tag" it.)

FDC insisted on showing us how to shoot his gun.

'Don't think it could ever become a favorite hobby for me.

On Valentine's Day, we had a mystery dinner.

Course 1 for FDC was a chocolate ice cream sundae!
(I had pictures...where did they go?????)
Sorry.

Chels sent N8 a Valentine--
"I mustache you a question...will you be my Valentine?"

She also made FDC and me a card.

'Yep, it's been a fun Valentine's week.
And it snowed last night, to boot!
'Hope your Valentine's Week has been just as good!

TiMe FoR A TaStY WeEk!

Whoa, the week came and went....
and it was a tasty one!

FDC was in charge of the Friends of Scouting Ward Dinner.  Chels made a hamburger cake.
(It sold for $60.)
N8 made a "Raspberry Whipped Cream Cheese Cake".
It sold for $92.
(I think he wants to quit his day job...
too bad he doesn't have one.)

Dinner was a baked potato bar--
served by the Scouts.
It was amazingly delicious

and surprisingly filling.
Other great happenings of the week included
the cleaning out of the medicine cupboard.
(Okay, so maybe not too thrilling...
but we actually found some meds that expired in 1991--
older than Chels or Nate.)
In other news...
'forgot to mention
Chels is now working for the clinic.
She started during the Christmas holidays.

And Pe and Scout got their photo
entered into a picture contest.
(Could there be anything cuter?)

TiMe FoR FuN!

Okay, so it's waaaaay too cold outside,
so
what do you do for fun?
Invite some cute grandkids to visit!

They, along with their parents, make for some pretty great times...

like watching a good movie or two,

or perhaps catching up on some needed rest.

Maybe even hitting a UNR basketball game?

Alas...they've gone home now.
What to do?????

Track season starts tomorrow.
Nathan's found a new love...
his spikes!

HaPpY NeW YeAr!

It may be 2012, but...
we're still having fun!
(Primarily because, school hasn't yet started for the new year.)

Chels has been spending a little time with some of her favorite celebrities.

N8 too.

The kids have been enjoying eating these.
(Do you have any idea what that is?!)

We've been playing in Tahoe
(where there is an amazing lack of snow!)

But you can still hike around the lake...

or take a boat ride.

Happy 2012, everyone!
